RackSRV UK dedicated servers are perfect for home and business clients alike whom demand dedicated control
over their server whether it be via SSH or RDP and require more resources than can be cost-effectively provided
by a virtual dedicated server or shared web hosting environment.
As well as offering clients very competitively priced dedicated server packages, clients will now benefit from the ability to
instantly reboot their server as well as see their traffic usage patterns over the last day / week / month via
our bespoke client portal 24x7 completely free of charge.

Server
Management
As standard, all of our UK Dedicated Servers are supplied as un-managed. RackSRV will install a fresh and up-to-date
O/S of your choice, configure your user account and then hand over full admin access for you to manage your hosting
server entirely as you wish (whilst keeping within our ToS).
If you would prefer the peace of mind that one of our experienced Linux or Windows engineers is proactively
managing your server then we can provide you with a package to suite your needs whether it be simply rolling
out O/S and security updates or complete management including application installations, performance monitoring and
data backups. Please contact us for a bespoke management quotation.
Operating
Systems
RackSRV can setup your Dedicated Server pre-installed with an array of Linux distributions as well as Windows Server Edition. When ordering you will be able to choose from 32bit and 64bit editions of the following operating systems:
Centos Linux 5.x - No extra cost
Debian Linux 5.x - No extra cost
Ubuntu Linux 9.x - No extra cost
Win2k3/2k8 Web Edition - Extra £10 /month
Win2k3/2k8 Std Edition - Extra £15 /month
If you require an O/S which is not listed above then we can provision you ad hoc access to our KVMoIP system to undertake your own O/S installation providing you can supply us with the relevant media. Please contact us for further information on this feature.
Dedicated or
Colocation?
This is a question we are regularly asked at RackSRV and it comes down to two factors, convenience and budget. Often clients
will send down a homemade server that’s not designed for 24x7 usage in a data centre environment. The aim is to save a few pounds
in rental costs but this can often prove to be a false economy when something goes bang at 4am in the morning requiring an
expensive engineer callout to escort the client on to site!
By renting a UK Dedicated Server from RackSRV, you can rest safe in the knowledge that we will quickly and efficiently deal with
any hardware issues as we keep most parts in stock leaving you to focus your time and effort on more important things.
