How do I know my power requirements?

We're quite often approached by prospective clients who either have no idea what the power draw of their server will be or have calculated their power draw based on the max/peak output power of their PSU which leads to *very* high draw and thus expensive colocation quotes!

In most instances, when provided with your servers specification we will be able to provide you with an estimated power draw however if you require an exact figure prior to shipping your server to us then we would recommend buying a Plug-In style energy meter.

These can be picked up from the likes of Maplin and eBay for around £15-20 and are very useful for seeing the draw of any UK mains plug device in units such as Amps & Watts.
