How to lock Mysql to Localhost (Linux)

This is a very simple adjustment to make, this will stop remote queries running on your mysql server. Simply run the following commands:

nano /etc/my.cnf

Once within this file add the following to the bottom of the config:

bind-address =

Save & Exit nano then execute the following to restart the Mysql Daemon:

service mysqld restart
